Time to Get to Work

Ok. The greetings and introductions have been made and a liberal dose of fun time with the Grace children has been had by all. Now it’s time to serve. I started the day by giving a devotional to the Grace kids at morning chapel. Not my strong suit, speaking in public through an interpreter. Nevertheless, I felt called to step out of my comfort zone and share some of what I’ve learned as a Christian with these children who’ve become so dear to me after four trips to India.
After breakfast the team split up. Sal, Tom, Folga, Mike, and myself headed over to a village dentist office to set up a free dental clinic for the poor of the community. It felt good to offer up free dental care for those who could not afford it. Being on the outside looking in, literally, I can see why people fear the dentist. Root canals and such are not a pretty sight (especially in some of the mouths we were treating).
The rest of team stopped by the JEMS school, grades 1 through 5, and worked on arts and crafts with the children. Being that the children love when you know their names, we thought it appropriate to have them make fancy name tags with our help. The kids loved the project, but we actually benefited the most. If you’ve ever seen and heard Indian names you know what I mean.
All and all, it was another wonderful day in Dowlaiswarm. Can’t wait see what else God has in store for us. By the way, just want to say hello to my family and my girl, Jess. I love you and miss you all.

  • GGG,
So glad you’re out there seving the Lord. I’m so proud of you 🙂 I’m praying for you and the team. I know God is speaking to you (Psalm 19: 9-11)! See you soon…
    Love You

  • Hey guys and gals,
It’s been great living just a little bit vicariously through you as I’ve read your blog…I’m sooo jealous…I wish I was there, too 🙂 What an incredible opportunity!! I have kept all of you in prayer so much….I find myself praying for you like all the time!
This verse came to mind for me for reasons here in the homeland, but I know it really applies to you as well as I know that Satan will try his best to thwart the awesome work you are doing there in India.
“To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.”
It’s the beginning of Psalm 25…look it up! 😉
I can’t wait to hear tales and view pictures when you return!
