"I was shoe maker making small wages, but I managed to raise my daughter and two sons. I borrowed money for my daughters’ marriage but when I was unable to repay the loan, the lenders took my small house. Because of this, my family abandoned me and I was forced to the streets to beg for food.
A pastor told me about the Agape Old Age Home and their services towards abandoned elderly persons. Here I am getting sufficient food and best shelter I have ever had."

"I have two daughters who do not care about me. Sometimes I stayed with one or the other; but my sons-in-law did not want me. Someone at CEM suggested I come here. My husband was a teacher. He died in 2008. I was a housewife. I had many friends while going to school. I had to stop studying in 1967 because of poverty."

There was not enough money for them to take care of me; so they found Agape Old Age Home and I have been living here. I do not hear and I have eye problems, so it's a challenge to talk to anyone. Somedays my granddaughter comes to visit me but I do not always remember her."
